I formed True Course Counseling with the purpose of helping individuals and families restore their relationships. At True Course you will find an approach to counseling that is based on life experiences and proven counseling practices.
I like to try to set myself apart from other counseling practices by providing a comfortable yet confidential office setting as well as removing all the tedious administrative tasks that take time away from our time together. I do this by using a completely electronic and HIPAA compliant platform to complete all intake forms, billing, booking. I even offer online counseling if desired!
The goal is to help you and those closest to you chart a new course in your life, with a clear purpose, and improved relationships.
My name is Brian Neal and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the state of Delaware and Florida. I completed my undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Technology at Purdue University and received my Master’s of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. After transitioning from the aerospace industry at 45 years old, I gathered experience in counseling by working at a teen treatment center, community-based agency, church counseling center, and now in private practice.
I primarily utilize a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach with an integration of other evidence-based therapies, such as solution-focused, person-centered, emotion-focused, and family systems. Having served as a pastor at a large non-denominational church in south Florida, I can integrate faith into our counseling while respecting the person's faith journey.
Among my areas of expertise are marital discourse, family conflict, pre-teen/teen behavioral issues, and work-related concerns. In addition to being a family therapist, I also enjoy presenting to general audiences on the topics of parenting, marriage, and relationships.
